![]() ![]() It’s also hard not to see everyone else as kind of a disappointment after spending 55 hours with Edelgard and learning her plans. All of those sound like unambiguous positives. ![]() Still, it ends with Rhea and Dimitri dead, Claude probably alive and Edelgard crushing Those Who Slither in the Dark. After I finish the other three, I’ll come back to this and maybe my mind will be changed. Still, of all of the endings I’ve seen so far, it’s come across as the absolute best. Did a bunch of people die on the way? Sure, this game is a tragedy in a lot of ways, and it’s a game about war, death was inevitable. Hell, even in my route, I killed Claude, and the only issue that wasn’t addressed by Edelgard’s victory was whether or not Fodlan’s isolation was ended. It’s hard not to look at that as an absolute win. Also, if Petra is alive, she’ll return to Bridgid and manage to bring its standing to an equal with Fodlan. Meanwhile, Claude gets to return to Almyra and, having now played most of Verdant Wind, I understand that he can convince the people of Almyra to actually begin economic and political discussions with Foldan. Like, Edelgard manages to destroy the despotic church, get rid of the noble system and set up reforms like universal education and some other economic developments the characters sort of allude to in their Supports with Edelgard. At least, if you can save Claude, since it means that all of the characters with altruistic, or altruistically leaning, intentions manage to get what they want, and they get to improve Fodlan in some really good ways. People say that it’s the closest to a “Golden Ending” as you can get, but I don’t know if that’s true. I think I understand why I think people say you should shave Crimson Flower should be saved for the last route. ![]() Continued abuse of our services will cause your IP address to be blocked indefinitely.Copyright Nintendo, Intelligent Systems and Koei Tecmo Games Please fill out the CAPTCHA below and then click the button to indicate that you agree to these terms.
